Mina:                                    I don’t know why I like this name, but I think it’s cause of the meaning and the sound of it.

Michelle:             I’m not the biggest fan of Alexis bur for some reason Alexia I like. It gives me a very myth-esque feeling.

Mina:                                    I adore the Percy Jackson series and Annabeth is a daughter of Athena, which makes me love her more.

Michelle:             I’m going to be real, my lady doctors name is Arlene. This makes it hard for me to understand why someone calls it a modern invented name, especially when I find numerous sources that debate the origin and meaning. I really think its spunky, kind of like the female version of Arlen, even though that’s being given to girls nowadays.

 

 

Aniyah

Michelle:             I’m really into names like these, invented ones with a kick. I especially love the -yah ending. I think its short but not forgettable. Plus, all the nickname possibilities.

 

 

Alaia

Pronunciation: ah-LYE-ah                              Origin: Basque                                  Meaning: “joyful, happy”                              Popularity: Not in any country’s top 1,000

 

Michelle:             I’ve become really into Basque names lately and I don’t understand. But I really like this hidden gem, yeah there are some potential problems. Some could mispronounce the name and there could be some teasing issues. But if we over look that it’s like the popular Alaya that’s being chosen a lot lately.

Michelle:             Every year I’m so shocked that this retro star is so popular in the states. I’ve liked this name for a long time now. It bugs the hell out of Mina, who can’t stand it. Ada to me is one of those classic names that doesn’t fit to just one decade, it’s always current, like many of my diehard favorites.

 

 

Alexandra

Mina:                                    Alexandra is such a pretty name. I love the sound of it, and how it’s a female variant of Alexander.

Mina:                                    This name is one of those short names that I feel like can be overlooked but it’s really cute.
